graduation is over. my speech went well...i cried, in front of everyone. the whole service was really good, but i would have to say that the highlight was dan, the executive director of master's commission. he decided to do an illustrative sermon at the last minute. he got on the drums and started talking about life. he progressively got louder...and more crazy. he started yelling stuff about a mother in law and how all mother in laws are ugly and need to be stabbed in the face. what an end to the night. then we all said a lot of goodbyes and then watched the end of year video.
now i have an hour before i get in the van, and head to the airport with 8 other people who are leaving this morning.
catch ya lata copenhagen.

3:15am... that is when my alarm went off. i don't recall, but i guess that i turned it off at some point. all i know is that i woke up at 3:40am curled up on my stomach with my butt in the air. crap. i slid off my bed just as jaralei cam into my room to wake me up. it so happens that everyone slept in late except for her. so andy and i quickly got ready, got our blankets and sleeping bags, and headed to jesse's.
all of us, jaralei, jesse, david neilsen, nolan, deanna, andy and i all got in the van and headed to the beach. our plan was to get there early enough to watch the sun rise, something that we have been wanting to for a few weeks.
well, we got there early enough, but jesus decided to let the weather be cloudy today. it was still great though. we sat around and talked and then david tried to climb a tower that was taller than it had first appeared.
we came back and went to jesse's apartment. we ate oatmeal, drank hot chocolate and watched the "game". all of us fell asleep....for 4 hours. i had a really weird dream....

i was pregnant with jesse's baby, danielle was a conniving reporter, aaron was a heroine addict and dealer and rebecca was the killer for our murder mystery last night... typical. i don't think that anyone was really surprised at that. sorry rebec.
going home on monday morning, before jesus is even awake. pulling an all-nighter on sunday!

last night was our final impact night. we practiced 6 nights in a row, got everything perfect and then friday night i get an email saying that the program is going to be changed. let's cut some songs here, let's throw in a human video and a sermon here and add a song that you don't even know. yeah, i was very frustrated and angry and then left craig some hate mail in his inbox.
he pulled me aside that night and told me that i had every right to be angry, but that it had to be this way. ok. so we just went with it.
it was wonderful, better than last time. it was all Jesus, no amanda shaye. i couldn't have done it without Him and my awesome team. they don't even know how much i love and appreciate each one of them.
after impact night i walked into lounge 1 where i found danielle...very bored. daniel walked by us with some french fries. we both looked at each other, knew what the other was thinking and then and went and got our coats. when we got to old esperia we walked in. the guys came out and told us that they were closed, but then decided that we could still order. yeah, it pays to be hot. so we both ordered a small fry. he only made one. uhhh, so we paid for it and then went to the kebab place and got another one there. then it rained.
we got back, ate our fries and then set up the storage room to watch episode 23 of 24... ohhhhhhhh man. amazing. i won't ruin it for anyone, but sherry palmer gets jacked right in the face. sweet justice...
then we went to jesse's and joined the sleepy crew in watching the 5th element. i slept. then i went to bed. ahhh.

i was doing my scripture memory this afternoon and i came across the verse in matthew 5 that says, "blessed are those that hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled."
i started thinking...
how many there are that manifest no hunger or thirst after the things of God; and what shall be said of this innumerable multitude? why do they feel no hunger, no thirst?
like the absence of ordinary hunger, this spiritual lack of hunger is due to the awful cancer of sin gnawing out the heart of the victim. others, already in the final throes of spiritual starvation, are past hunger and thirst.
some have perverted their desires and have no true hunger and thirst for spiritual things remaining. the ravages of disease, perversion, and starvation are thus able to destroy that eagerness of the soul that men should have with reference to the things of God.
Particular attention should be given to the scriptural term, "righteousness". "righteousness", in the scriptural view, means keeping God's commandments (luke 1:6); is revealing the gospel (rmns. 1:17); and may be obtained in only one way, namely, by obedience to God's commands, all of which are righteousness (ps. 119:172).
the desire for righteousness is the only desire of man that can be truly and finally satisfied. appetites of the flesh, all of them, can be satisfied only for the moment. the drunkard, for example, never appeases his thirst, but must die, at last, still ungratified! physical hunger, also cannot be satisfied, except for the moment. death always results, whatever the cause, when the hunger of the body cells can no longer be met.
it is literally true that, "solid joys and lasting treasure, none but zion's children know".

yesterday was monday, and not at all a day off.
first, we all had to get up at 6am because people had been late throughout the week. which actually turned out to not be bad at all. we ran to the park, then around the park once and then played ladder, elbow tag and red rover...my team won. i love david nielsen.
i came back, stretched, took a shower and then started getting everything together for impact night which is coming up on saturday. that took me about 4 hours. i went in my room to work on a servanthood sermon that was due today, and ended up getting distracted by beautiful charlotte. we played cards for awhile and then kasper came over. we were both really tired. him from being chased by 3 year olds all day and me from being up at 6am. so the conversation did not consist of much on this occasion. though it was still nice to see and talk to him. always a pleasure my good sir.
then i went upstairs to talk to my mother who was trying to find me a cheap plane ticket. she called me on my cell phone and i could hear children screaming in the background. thank God for general council right mom? heh.
we practiced for impact night for a couple of hours and then i started on the sermon. charlotte and i teamed up on this one. after working on it for about 15 minutes, andy pipes up and says to the room that he wants ice cream. we(charlotte, lotte, and i) all agreed. so we left our homework and headed for the kiosk.
i was the first to order and i got a "mexicana", which was the biggest one that they sold, and it was only 20 kronar. as the guy started scooping it up for me another one came in and told him that he was making the scoops too small. he grabbed the cone and started shoveling in more ice cream. then he put soft ice on top and stuck some lemon sticks in it. mmmmm. then he told me that i would get it for half price.... it pays to look GOOOOOD when you go to the kiosk. we all ended up getting them for half price...even andy...hmmm.
then it was time for bed. charlotte laid in our room, and when it got quiet i heard her say, "i feel like i am getting fatter every minute as i lay here because of that stupid ice cream...i never should have eaten it".
and that was the close of my day.

yesterday was our final isi day. we decided that we wanted to do something awesome and completely memorable with our group. so jesse and i devised a plan of action that would guarantee their hatred towards us forever...
we started by blindfolding them all. they loved that...especially nicole. we told them to all hold hands and then we led them outside to the maintenance van. one by one we put them in the back. now, just to get a picture of this van...it is white with no windows, except for the front. there is one window that separates the back from the front and it is barred...we covered that one with backpacks so it was pitch black in where they were sitting. there are also no seats or carpet. so jesse takes off and acts like he has never driven a stick before. it was horrible, even in the front. we were getting constantly harrassed from the back...henrik peed his pants, almost.
we drove around for about 20 minutes until it was time for phase 2. we stopped in the middle of a huge market that was downtown. there were probably about 300 people there. i jumped out and opened the back. i told lotte and nicole to get out. i took them and led them to the side of the road facing all of the people. i whispered to them that they had to sing "smelly cat" at the top of thier lungs. lotte refused to do it and i told her if she didn't that i would "zap her" with my "zapper". she whimpered, and nicole told her just to do it. so i stepped back as they began to sing and as the crowd turned to stare at them. they finished and we started walking back to the van. "no one saw us right?" lotte asked. i told them to take off thier blindfolds and look behind them. they did, and then just started yelling at me. it was awesome. we all get back in the van and drive off.
we drove to the king's gardens and got out all of our fort building equipment that we had brought. they are all still blindfolded. i open up the back and rebecca starts shouting that she has been kidnapped. REALLY LOUDLY. there ARE people around. i tell her to be quiet, but she chose not to listen to me. i thought that i was going to have to duct tape her mouth shut... she finally stopped.
so, we find this little spot where there are lots of trees and bushes. perfect for our fort. we un-blindfold them. they were mad for about a second until i told them what we were doing. then they all got pumped up and we started making it. it wasn't the best fort that i had ever seen, definitely coudn't protect us from any vikings. so we sat down and waited for jesse to get back. he had forgotten all the snacks back at master's. he gets back and we sit down and just hang out and talk. we yell at henrik because he was late and now the first years have a 6am on tuesday morning. henrik removed himself from the group several times to "go make a little fart".
we got a little serious for awhile and talked about living a transparent life...we did this until lotte announced that she had to pee so bad that she couldn't breathe, and then took off for the closest restaurant. awkward. nicole tried to make it not awkward by starting to take off her shirt, we stopped her though, just in the knick of time. whew.
we tore down our little camp while she was gone and moved to where the sun was. we layed a tarp down and then started tackling and smothering each other in it. when lotte came back from her little potty break we ALL got her. it was great.
it was the best isi ever. i had a great time.
after that we had to hurry home because i had to go practice with filip, lea and rune for xlnt next week. i have never been to a practice like that before. we only practiced three songs and i was there for almost 5 hours. we stopped and took an ice cream and cookie break...which ended up being a "who can stuff the most cookies in their mouths and flip them around" break.
to finish up the day...last night jaralei, jesse, andy and i watched a movie and THEN...went on an adventure. can't talk about that though.

i have two scripture memory due tomorrow and i am still working one number one. we tried to do it last night and found that charlotte, david, andy and i don't make very good scripture memory partners. we ended up playing cards.
danielle came in last night and told us about her day with her family. her aunt ended up getting mad at illum when buying some sunglasses and then swore at the cashier and tried to leave WITH the sunglasses. danielle you have no idea how lucky you are to have such an entertaining family.
yesterday some of us went to pastor jarle's house to do some gardening for him. it ended up not being too bad. jaralei and i weren't scheduled to work, but we volunteered to go along so they guys could be home sooner... jarle just found more for us to do instead.
jaralei and i slept on the roof two nights ago. i thought that we were going to be eaten by the mice that we heard. at one point i was sleeping and thought that i felt something in my sleeping bag and started freakingout. it wasn't anything...i was just dreaming. jaralei seemed to find it very amusing though. the next morning we woke up and had a little bit of a difficult time being sneaky about getting back ion the kulture center...whatever we are awesome.

lori larsen is in the house. she has arrived and is in top form. that woman can talk faster than i can run. her rate of speech amazes me.
last night they came in from a night on the town and she was very ready to tell us all about it. there were about ten of us in the hall and we all sat there and listened to her...we also laughed a little. she has a very talented ability to jump from one subject to another. one minute she had a very angry face and voice telling us about how danielle was laughing at her grandmother falling down some stairs that night, and then the next minute teddy walks in and lori turns around and say so sweetly, "it is so good to see you honey, how are ya?". we all lost it at that point. good entertainment to say the least.
she is spending the night here tonight so that should be fun. i can't wait. ohhhh, man.

today has been great.
this morning i got up at around 7:30am. i was happy when i got in the shower because there was really good pressure. then i got dressed. after that i had some great God time. mmmmm, yes.
we had a really good isi today, talked about a lot of stuff. dreams for next year, feelings about next year. then when i thought that we were going to be busy for a couple hours it turned out that we weren't and i got to take a nap. then there was tracks. we were supposed to build a sink for craig to use in chapel on friday ( what for? i have no idea.), but ended up not having to because we found one that we could use in the storage bin. this day is just getting better and better. it was a beautiful day outside so we decided to head down to the park and study...which required a bike ride. perfect. lotte and nicole didn't want to go so david and i took our blankets and our books and went.
we studied for about a half an hour then david fell asleep. then he woke up and we decided to play egyptian. best card game in the world. it makes me so mad every time that i play it. especially with david, because i have only ever beat him once at that game. it is becuase his hands are so big. andy showed up a little later and came and sprawled out on the blankets with us. we played a few rounds... david won every time... and then studied some more.
there was so much to look at though i couldn't concentrate much on studying. there were little kids with really short legs running around everywhere. i just layed there thinking how much fun it would be to throw them. they weren't much bigger than a ball. then there was an old lady sitting close to us, that was talking on her mobile and laughing loudly. we laughed at her. it reminded me of what nicole was going to laugh like when she gets old.
yeah, not much studying done. we came home after about 2 hours there. then we had to get recorded for the end of year video. now i am here, and now i am going to go do some more scripture memory...or not. sarah just came in here, so i will again delay it and go hang out with her instead. yes. good idea.
amanda shaye |2:05 PM
yesterday was good. i woke up and jumped out of bed because i thought that i was going to be late for prayer and then have a 6am on monday... i made it on time, but danny took care of the 6am for us. thanks man. half hour late. oh, well, we need the excercise...or at least rebecca does.
mexico is now back which i am really happy about. they came back all tan and beautiful. makes me sick. they had lots of fun stories, which i got to hear about yesterday afternoon when i rode bikes downtown with mr. oldenburg. nice talk. thanks andy.
we all finished up the night with a round of gladiator. a good end to any day.
just back from a walk with miss nicky sue. love that girl. chicago you can't have her back. i decided.
oh, and filip is a sassypants...if anyone was wondering. he said it himself. i would never use that word.

back from romania, safe and sound...ahhh, home again home again jiggedy jig.
it was a great trip. God taught me a lot. some things that i thought that i had already learned and kind of got put in my spot by the Big Guy by Him showing me that i definitely hadn't. i think that it was a learning experience for everyone.
out contact, daniel, was great. he and his family were so good to us. i think that he did a really terrific job for it being his first team. very hospitable.
i had the opportunity of meeting a lot of really interesting people that i will never forget.
i will elaborate on all of this later because henrik is sitting here staring at me waiting to use the computer.
please be praying for me to find a cheap ticket to make it back here for david and lea's wedding in july. so far they are all super expensive because of the olympics being in athens this year and everyone wanting to come to europe for that. i would appreciate it very much!
