always and forever.
don't you hate it when you go to try and sneak a drink of milk out of the jug, without getting a glass, but the jug makes a popping sound and then your mom yells at you?

somebody call 9-1-1
after all the gifts were unwrapped today, my grandpa had us take all the boxes and papers outside to the edge of the woods to burn. so jonah and i were doing this. the fire was watched until it was dead... or so we thought. an hour later we look out the window and there are flames all in the woods. we took our personal fire brigade outside and got it under control.
i smell like a campfire. not that it isn't ok to smell like a campfire... WHEN YOU ARE CAMPING.
so that has been my exciting day so far. actually there has been a lot more swearing, which always makes me laugh, from my grandpa. the best is when he starts flipping my grandma off. that's when you know that he has had enough. he has threatened to kill the dog several times today. i wish he would.
last night we celebrated christmas with my dad's side of the family.
one of my uncles was sitting around just trash talking people as they walked by. i was sitting right next to him so i got the priviledge of hearing EVERYTHING. he talked about one of my aunts that has been living with him. he talked about how he had to feed her eight times a day to keep her happy. then he started ripping on how fat everyone had gotten since last year. he asked one of my cousins, right in front of everyone, if she had been packin on the pounds and said that she needed to lay off the beer and burgers. it took all of my power not to smile.
the most awesome present that i have received... a t-shirt that says
"i've got a fever. and the only prescription, is more cowbell!"
we were discussing meth today at lunch. my grandma asked where she could find the recipe for it (strange), and my dad was telling her that it could be found on the internet. she then got a very devious look on her face.... hm.
this afternoon we had a family game of poker and tonight we will be playing christmas bingo. FOR PRIZES.
merry christmas everyone!!

that is my one word to describe last night. so andy (tanz) and i meet up at tractors and head over to his bass players house yesterday afternoon. plans were to go watch lemony snikkets, or whatever it's called, the new movie with jim carrey, with cody's (his bass players) family. so we get to cody's house just fine. about 20 minutes later we look outside. you couldn't see anything. visibility was definitely zero maryann maloney. good call heartland news team. even with the weather this bad they all still wanted to go. farmington here we come. absolute craziness. INSANITY. we got to listen to some sweet tunes though so who's complaining? not me. so we finally get to the movie. praise Jesus. praise be to the lamb that was slain and risen on the third day.
the movie was ok. wouldn't see it again, but it wasn't NOT enjoyable. cody liked it a little too much. i think that he would get confused during the course of the film because he would just laugh boisterously for no reason at all... then he slept and dumped reeses pieces on my lap... but not at the same time... but almost.
then there was the drive home.
the drive home.
a drive that should have taken about an hour, took almost three. but that's just because andy drives slow... well, maybe he drove slow because i was nervous, but the hazard lights were DEFINITELY his idea. he tried to do everything to keep me relaxed. he even cranked up 102.5 and sang christmas carols when we were sliding on the bridge... what? i mean we weren't sliding dad... that was just a joke. when we got to my house he made sure to get stuck real good in our front yard so there would be no way of getting out in the morning and having to go to work.
this fabulous night ended with napoleon dynamite. ahhhhh. amen. amen.

and God said, "let there be snow"
surprised nick yesterday by walking up to the little cafe that he works at. "i hate you. you are such a liar", is all that he said... at first. then he made me a free drink.
i finally got to see jonah last night. i got to meet the infamous nate panke. this guy is nuts. i loved him. we were quoting napoleon dynamite all night because we had watched it earlier. yessssss.
my mother is making me get a flu shot today. i hate it.
partyin' hard tonight. watch out st. louis.

steak n'shake is owww-some.
last night was our annual open house. there were lots of people and lots of food. i was about to call it a night, because of my jet lag, when i hear a woman in the living room yell, "hey, mandie there's a MAN here to see you!" i ignored her because i thought that she was just being stupid. then hannah, my sister came in and said that there was someone here for me. there was andy tanz, standing under the mistletoe just waiting for me... er... i mean... yeah, it was really good to see him. it's been what, 8 years? well, 2. so, we hung out and watched salad fingers. the kids got in trouble for standing behind us and watching it after mom told them not too. hey, they can't help it if they have good taste in cartoons. there was a new episode out (andy oldenburg, watch that junk. it'll freak you right out).
full day today. breakfast date, lunch date, and then heading over to carbondale for a day of fun with dan.
i still haven't seen jonah... and napoleon dynamite isn't out here yet. what a pity.

we had our staff christmas party last night. we biked together to a turkish restaurant located downtown on the walking streets. when we arrived mikael was waiting for us outside. he informed us that there would be belly dancers performing later on... unfortunately we found out after having inquired, that the dancers didn't come on until after 8. we were leaving to go to the 'secret place', as mikael called it, at 7:30. shoot.
we left the restaurant and started biking again. mikael pulled up to the night church. we all parked and locked our bikes and walked up to the door. with a big smile on his face mikael goes to open the it. it didn't budge. it was closed. AHHHHHHHH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! the look on his face was the best.
so we left to go somewhere else... somewhere else ended up being a recreation center where we had reserved lanes to bowl! woo woo! so we get our teams together and start the game. there was a group of danish guys that were right next to us. they were intoxicated and singing loud danish songs. we made a bet that whoever the lossing girl was, that they had to go over and make a fool out of themselves by flirting with them. awesome.
flemming was sitting right across for me and blew me kisses all night. every once in awhile he would look at me and say, "this one's for you baby". oh, flemming.
we came back to jason and nolan's apartment and had snacks and talked and prophesied (no just kidding)and ended with watching lost. let's just say that it's a good thing charlie didn't die.

a party crashed.
tonight andy and i went downtown to christmas shop. we arrive downtown and notice that everything is closing. so much for that idea. signe calls me and asks us to meet her, and all the other first years, at tivoli so they can get our cards from us to get in for free. we kept walking past these flashing light stands and every time that we did andy acted like he had epilepsy. which was fantastic. we made a pit stop at kfc because i have been craving cole slaw for the past two days and needed to get some. so we were in there for 15 minutes just standing in line. i think that there was an native american standing in front of us... weird. we planned our attack on the first years when they arrived. sneaking up from behind and scaring the poop out of nay. we went into tivoli and walked around because we were early. we went out when it was close to time and saw that they were already there, waiting for us. so we had to circle around the block to get them from behind. it worked. we scared nay. victory! she yelled. high five for that one. we left them with some great poses and pictures and headed home. we found a glove and a tire rim on the road. very exciting. andy stopped traffic with his dance moves. nicole called on our way home. yep. nice time.
